Domain Name Transfers

Domain Name Transfers

The question of how a domain transfer works is asked now and then so I thought it would be a good idea to create a post and explain how the process works.

Transferring a domain name from one web host to another does not need to be a headache, and if the proper steps are followed then it should be an easy, smooth process.

To transfer a South African domain name (.co.za) is usually free, with Stallion Hosting there is no charge to transfer a .co.za domain name. If the correct procedure is followed and once the tickets are accepted then the transfer can be completed in 24 hours of being submitted.

Transferring international domain names such as .com .net .org .info etc is slightly more complicated and will usually take longer. When transferring an international domain name there is a charge, and the reason for this charge is that when you transfer an international domain an extra year gets added to the time remaining on your current registration.

For example if your  domain will expire in 6 months and you decide to transfer it to Stallion Hosting then you would place an order and pay the associated fee and then once the transfer is accepted and completed then your domain name would expire in 1 year and 6 months time.

If you are looking for a new hosting provider or want to transfer your domain names to your Stallion Hosting account then feel free to order a domain transfer from http://www.stallionhosting.com
